Watch this space for a cover reveal for my new romantic suspense novel Whatever it Takes.
There are many songs that make me happy, from sweet ones like 'You are my sunshine' to those turn up the radio and blast rock n'roll ones. Kenny Loggins' 'Footloose' always makes me want to sing and dance around the room. #upbeatauthors
This is a photo looking from my kitchen window, over the sink, into the sunroom we added on years ago. While the sun wasn't shining brightly when I took this picture, normally, the room is awash in light. The first thing I do when I wake up is open the curtains. The door in the sunroom leads to a deck, where I sometimes sit and write. My writing laptop is open on the table in the sunroom.
The window sill holds objects that have a special meaning. From left to right: a bottle we bought at a flea market because we both happened to like it. The little ceramic cup is one my husband, a potter, was going to throw away because it isn't perfect. The red bowl is one he threw (made) ages ago, as is the blue cup. I place my rings and watch into the blue cup when I get home. The little ceramic "face" is a toothpick holder we bought from a local potter. The yellow Fiesta teapot is all that's left of my mother's Fiesta collection. Each of these items has special meaning. Even the window sill itself and the walls in the sunroom are special because my husband did all the work. When I'm cooking or cleaning up the kitchen, this view is what makes me happy. Where, in your home, do you feel the happiest? |
